Kenna. Typical. Pie. Liver. Slides.

I wrote this last week, but I'm posting this today. . .

Can they get any cuter? Maybe just with eyes open. :)
Miss. Kenna

Haley is into playing school at home. She is the teacher with B, Me, Maleia and Dylan as her students and basically she gets to play "bossy pants" and actually really enjoys teaching us. But mostly she just gets a right of way to be bossy. Hmmmm, is that why I enjoy teaching so much?? Nah, I LOVE acting like a goof ball, wiping snotty noses, and getting my tablecloth cut up. So Haley, aka Miss Kenna, is currently telling me that I am at computers. Yessss! My favorite subject and she is singing 5 Little Speckled Frogs with Maleia, while Dylan is in nap time. He's been there for 2 hours so far. I think he gets an A. But for some reason she insists on being Miss Kenna. I called her Haley once and got my name on the board. Dang it. She is right now telling me that I am her next "special helper" so I must get off and "help" with "alphabet on the white board" time. Then we are off to a field trip to see piggies. I can't wait!!

Not your typical Relief Society President

So I am back from my GNO (Girl's Night Out) and it was really fun. Bunch of non-drinking ladies (I'm sure the waiter LOVED that) stuffed in a little room eating yummy questionable food. We were all chatting away when I overheard a comment, "Well, Monique is not your typical Relief Society President." I turned and happened to have a knife in my hand and said loudly with the knife up, "Huh? What makes you say that?" When I turned, my neighbor turned towards me as well and the knife almost cut her. So does your RS Pres try to kill people at dinner? I thought I was just being typical. And that was the end of the conversation. laugh laugh blah blah blah. But I wonder what she really meant.... because it's a two edge sword when you say that. Either you are making fun of the "typical RS Presidents" whatever that means, or me. Good thing she loves me most of the time and what's so bad about being typical?

Strawberry Pie

So I do have a sweet hubby. I am going out for a girl's night goodbye dinner for two ladies who are leaving the Branch, which is a BIG deal since that is 12.3% of our RS, and I decide to make two desserts for after dinner. Well, hubby gets home and I don't have eggs, he goes and gets eggs, comes home to this:

"Nope the Brownies are NOT for you, babe, but the pie is." Awwww. (I decided one dessert would be plenty.) I'm still far behind for wife of the year, but I'm up against the winners from last year, Desiray and Sarah (whose hubbies have been deployed mucho and they are just amazing), and they are a tough act to follow.

Date Night

What??? GNO and Date Night on the same weekend?! We went to a Bulgarian Restaurant with 7 other couples and it was a fun night out. . . . AND I ATE GOOSE LIVER!! yummo. (It's better than you think.) It came with the Steak. How could I refuse! This is a Hungarian delicacy.

Aquaworld

Instead of Playgroup this week, we all decided to go to the brand new indoor water slides that just opened up this winter. Who would have thought to build an indoor water park? Genius! During the winter you can still play in the pool and be warm, and in the summer ... NO SUNBLOCK. That, my friends, is only the tip of the iceberg of why this place is so cool. They have baby slides, toddler slides, big slides, tiolet bowl slides, tube slides, and slides that you can go on in tubes. They even have a slide that goes through the window and goes outside for a little bit, then comes back inside! Cooooooool! They have a body surfing area, hot tubs galore, sauna, massages, cafe, and a wave pool as well. So if you ever come visit us, guess where we will take you? Parliment, The Castle (Var), Hero's square, Gellert Hill, and Aquaworld!!! Best part is that for Me and my two little ones cost me $10 for almost 3 hours. Ta Da! We might go back sooner than later...

They did not want to leave.

This thing was one of two floating rafts that they have here and it was already well worn only after a few months of this place being open.

Look at Dylan. Poor guy. He had two teeth come in this week with two more on their way. One year molars are toughies. He even had a slight fever, so the pool was great to keep it down. We also only had three hours of sleep the night before, so the water kept me awake!

These two are the best of friends. The just LOVE being together.

Another tired picture of this poor boy. PLUS cleavage!! Yesss. I didn't even know I still had some. Hopefully it detracts from the bags under my eyes and the redness of my face. . .

There's a part smile!
We went home and we ALL took a nap after a long day at the pool.

***See how useful that "Random" post was while reading this? Of course I was monolouging while baking (French accent this time, sounding like the peas on Veggie tales), and of course I love to teach. Tablecloth or no tablecloth.

  1. There was an indoor water park like that near us in Germany (the Aquadrome). We loved it so much we bought year passes and went at least 4 times a week. When I was pregnant with Liam I would go and sit in the warm salt water pool with my feet on the jets for about 2 hours every day.

    Darn it I miss Europe!!!

  2. You crack me up! I love your little monologue quirk - too funny. I do it sometimes too but now I'm going to have to try monologuing in an accent. I love the Veggie Tales pea character ("a little snack")! Can't wait to visit so we can go to Aquaworld. :)

  3. Oh man that was an outstanding post!!! Bravo!!! I laughed so hard! I love that the whole family rallys around Haley to allow those precious leader experiences! :) That is one amazing water park! I definitely love the whole warm but not sunburnt thing! Sweetness! And I died laughing with your swimsuit comment! We all want it, but try to be modest and hide it... and the times when weren't not expecting it, but it's there, is EXCITING! :) Hehehe! Love your bluntness! Don't worry about the RS comment. What's wrong with thinking or being outside the box! We're not supposed to be cookie cutters of each other, duh!! Love ya!

  5. I'm not sure what they meant by the Relief Society president comment, but just in case, wouldn't hurt to keep a knife handy, and place it discreetly on the side of your Relief Society table - you know, on top of the beautiful lace tablecloth, next to the flower arrangement and the picture of the temple. Just in case one of them decides to talk back to you or something.

  6. I love that you all play school with Haley. My sister and I used to do that, but she never got to be the teacher. Must be something about being the oldest. I like pretending to consider visiting you guys, but the novelty wears off when I think of the plane rides. You can just make a "points of interest" list for us when our kids are grown and easier to travel with :p
