The Secret is OUT!

This is an example of what my 10 week baby looks like. It's not my ultrasound. My 6 week ultrasound looks like a big ball of goo. Apparently the baby is an inch long right now.

Sorry that I haven't been updating the blog as often lately. I just got back home a week ago and then I have been sick ever since. But apparently it's a good thing because I am pregnant! Wow. Baby #4. This is such a blessing since we miscarried in September, though it would have been better timing, it just wasn't meant to be. Obviously. So if you hear me complaining about being sick, just knock me over the head and remind me it's a GOOD thing. Not literally. I tend to fight back. But I'm good at taking things from nice people. I have lost 2 pounds so far, not the ideal and NOT the way anyone wants to lose weight, but I feel like I already have a little baby pooch. Way earlier than the others.

Things I have learned so far:
Jet lag + pregnancy = yuck.
Head cold + pregnancy = double yuck.
My kids are better than I thought. They have been so awesome lately. Helpful, kind, capable. . . it's been so nice to be able to depend on them. It has been even surprising to see what they can handle.
All I want to do it sleep. Can't I just sleep for a few months straight until the sickness ends?
I can't do everything I want to do anymore.

Things I have forgotten:
Everything
How sick I get when I'm pregnant.

Cravings so far:
Fruit (primarily oranges)
Vegetables (primarily red, orange, and yellow peppers)
Eggs
Hamburgers

*If you are going to comment to ask me if I am crazy, don't.
*If you are going to comment to ask me if this is finally our last, don't.
*If you are going to comment to ask me if this is planned, it was. It was just not the timing we planned on. We wanted it EARLIER. :) Life goes on. And we feel very grateful.
(I have already been asked all three of these questions and I just don't want to give the answer that I really want to give. Sorry if I sound grumpy.)

  4. That's so funny, because we wanted later. I had just started getting gun-ho and getting into a workout routine. I wanted to lost 30 pounds. I have so much more to lost, but thought that would be a good start and then we'd have a fall baby and they'd be almost three years apart. Well, like you said, I guess it wasn't meant to be. I guess there's a reason for my girls all being so close in age. I think it's primarily to drive me crazy. I was sitting in YW on Wednesday night and just looked at the Beehive, the Mia Maids, and the Laurel, and thought, I'm going to have one of each of these....at the same time!! Anyway, congrats!! I'm happy for you and I feel you on the sleep for a few months thing. Hope it passes quickly and you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

  5. I get annoyed by the "are you done" question too. Like to the point that sometimes I want to bite off their heads. Nice huh? So don't worry I won't ask. (Like it's people's business anyhow...) Congrats, Chapman family. Yeah I forgot how sick pregnancy made me- by the end of my morning sickness period I had lost 5 lbs. Now I'm on track for the weight I'm supposed to have (which is an enormous feat of eating all the time I swear).

  7. Congratulations, Monique! You're such a great mom. I'm sure you'll handle four kids with grace. Somehow you make it look so easy. Good luck with your pregnancy. And go get lots of rest...cause that's so easy to do with 3 little ones. :) Sometimes tv is the only answer.

  8. Congratulations!! I am SO excited for you guys! YOU ARE A GREAT LITTLE MOMMY! Woah. Just noticed the caps lock was on. Hmmm, I'm gonna leave it big to add emphasis. We wanted Dylan a lot earlier too, but looking back the timing has worked out even better than it would have. Funny how that works sometimes.

  13. Monique,

You are the most collected SANE mom I know. I think you should have more. Who cares if it was planned? Any little spirit would be so lucky to be a Chapman. So happy for you! Now, one question: Any inkling if it is a boy or a girl??

  15. Ahhhhhh MOnique!
I am so excited for you! People who make beautiful babies should. :) Anyway, COnGRats!!!!

Now about the sickies. Oie. Seriously does that really have to be a part of it? I really really struggled with this one. I think I am just a wimp, or maybe its because I CAN'T sleep all day since I have to make sure the child already out of the womb isn't going to burn the house down. So feel free to whine to me. I will pat your blog on the header empathetically and feel your pain with you!
