A couple nights ago I came across this scene: Maleia and Haley were sleeping on the same pillow on the same side of the bed. We have them sleeping in a trundle bed, so they already sleep right beside each other, but they are in two separate beds that you push together, but one is stored underneath the other to save space. Anyway, so I noticed that Maleia moved onto Haley's side of the bed with her, so I tried so quietly to move her back onto her side of the bed, but she woke up, looked at me and said, "Mommy, I am sleeping by Haley because a monster peed on my bed." Oh great. She has had a few accidents lately, never at night, but my first thought was that she had peed the bed. I checked her side of the bed and, yes, it was wet, but there was no odor. I was puzzled, yet I didn't want to investigate too much since I frown on checking the authenticity of pee, so I started to take the sheets off just in case when I notice her sippie cup. I pick it up and turn it upside down. We have a leaker. So I take the sheets off and put them in the dryer, put new sheets on her bed, put her in her own bed, and she wakes up in a daze and says, "Thank you mommy. Can you tell the monster not to go potty in my bed anymore." I say, " Honey, it was the sippie cup." "Maleia responds, "Gross. He peed in the sippie cup too?!?" She is so awesome. I had a fun time trying to explain this to her at 1:00 in the morning.

They look like little angels. Perry and I always joke that our kids are so much easier to love when they are asleep. Don't judge, we really do love our kids all the time, they just look so innocent and peaceful when they sleep. Oh, and they aren't talking back either.:) Maleia is so funny.
ReplyDeleteHiiiiiilarious! The part about the sippy cup killed me--how did you keep a straight face?
ReplyDeleteI am currently laughing out loud that was so funny! Awesome Monique. Thanks for the post.
ReplyDeleteI called your house, but to no avail, your turn to ring me back and leave a message. When you do guys leave?
That was too funny!! We loved the sippy cup part of the story too! That's so cute that she thought it was a monster.
ReplyDelete"He peed in the sippy cup!" I LOVE kids.
ReplyDeleteCousin Tera here...I love reading your blog. Your girls are too cute! Monster pee. I'll have to remember that. They have such an imagination.
ReplyDeleteShe wasn't even afraid of the monster, sweet.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! I love these stories... she always says the funniest things =)
ReplyDeleteI retold this story to Jason at 1 am after getting up to care for a sad kid. It was even funnier at 1 am! :) Thanks again for FHE! It was fun and I say that you guys need to go to Brewsters before you leave...so we better go together!
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny! I really love the things kids say. Aweee!!!
ReplyDeleteI also frown on checking the authenticity of pee. I firm stance; if it's wet i'm not touching it and it needs to be in the washer.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! When are you guys leaving again? Hope everything is coming together!
