See how Dylan looks utterly blissful? (minus the owie over his eye. dang those sharp corners!) This is exactly how I feel now that we have all our things from the States!! Hooray! The first thing I did after our kitchen was set up was make Banana Bread in my Kitchenaid (thanks Stephanie for the recipe) and share it with the movers since they have never tasted it before. Notice, though, that Dylan was reading the Hungarian book that we got from the Posta instead of playing with all the great toys that we now have. (Pronounced PO-shta. The post office where we have to go to pay our bills. No, we don't mail them. We just pay them there.) We got it from the lady at the window that he was flirting with. It's a book about opposites, but it has a cat on the front. When I asked her if the title was Cat, she said, "Nem. It like funny, and not funny. Slow and speed. (huh?) Sun and cold." Ahhhh. Opposites! Hey, she was close enough. :) I then said, "Kosonem saipen." (Thank you.) And he loves it! The movers seemed super nice and we only had two major things broken, so it was a good move... so it seemed. Our 30 GB video iPod is missing!!!! Now it is hard to believe that they took it, but that is the only conclusion we have right now. It was there before they came and it was gone after they went. I didn't touch it, it was in a place where the kids couldn't get to it, and Brandon didn't move it. Bummer. We will keep looking for another day before we report it, but it just makes us worry what else...nah. I am still giving them the benefit of the doubt until we have combed the house a few more times. :( We are still thrilled to have
most of our things though!
Lucky you! We get to move into our apt and get our stuff a week from today. Ainsley and I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteDoes the picture look clearer now Jamie? Duh. I wiped the lens from my camera with a tad of windex. sigh. All those pictures taken with a dirty lens. . . there is good news though. I am getting a new camera! It is in the mail. . . we'll see if you all can tell a difference. Let's say the first person to notice that my picture is clearer . . . um, gets something cool from Hungary! See? It pays to comment on my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what that cloudy film was on all your pictures from Hungary! I thought maybe it was just really smoggy there or something. Just kidding. Glad you finally got your belongings. Sad that you lost your ipod. That stinks. Still waiting for pictures of your house. Inside and out. What's up with that?
ReplyDeleteWho could take stuff after getting banana bread! Sorry! I like the picture of Dylan though!
ReplyDeleteAfter the movers left from our FIRST move to Augusta (8 years ago), two cases of CDs were missing. They were in our bedroom before the movers came...not there afterward. My Chicago Greatest Hits was in there. I still miss that CD. *sniff*
ReplyDeleteGee your family is so beautiful I never noticed cloudiness! During our move from NC to MD our entire DVD collection ( even the kids) was stolen. This time we brought them with us. The empty WII box ( Labeled Nintendo WII) made it though!!( We also took the WII with us) The only mystery we have is how every single curtain rod we owned was bent. Every one! Oh well after 14 years ya get used to it.
ReplyDeleteYay you got your stuff! I am sorry that your iPod is missing... that is really crappy. I hope you guys find it soon. I like when you type in Hungarian for us... that is fun =)
ReplyDeleteWohoo, the picture IS totally clearer! I cannot WAIT for the new camera (not that you need it, your pictures are really cute!) Hurrah for cameras!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe those movers took your iPod! I was convinced the movers stole a bra of mine (I know, I'm a pervert) until I realized I WAS WEARING IT! I have no idea--I blame the stress of moving!
You are so cool with your Hungarian usage too!
Yeah, you're right. it is a yale flag... but it was more fun pretending it was a byu flag instead!!! they put it there in celebration of their 59-0 victory over ucla!!!! dylan looks so much like you!!!! he's so grown up!

ReplyDeleteI thought the film on your pictures was due to some European internet connection thing. Either that, things were just softer looking over there than here!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your IPod. When we were in Germany growing up, both times, the packers took all my dad's tools. But, in Germany, the packers are notorious for that.
