It doesn't look good...

Okay, so it looks good in pictures, but not where we are sitting right now...

We are supposed to leave tomorrow for Venice, Italy. Sat, Sun, and Mon looks like rain in Venice. And not just rain, hard rain. Tuesday looks good, so at least we will have one day of sunshine and exploring. Good thing we don't leave until that evening. Two of my kids had fevers today. The other one has a skin infection. It looks like we are going to have a one hour flight, (the shortest ever!) but a one hour bus ride, and a 30 min boat ride until we get to our apartment we are renting. Yikes! haley said, "We will be using 3 different modes of transportation? That's got to be a record!" Church is on the mainland, so who knows how long it will take to get there. I am not complaining, I am just really nervous for this trip. Of course after the fact people tell us that it's not kid friendly or stroller friendly... oh well. We actually looked into changing the days and there is a 90% fee and the flights will cost double to change them. Oh well. If anything we can kick it at the apartment and play together. right? sigh. Ready or not, here we come!

This is supposedly what we rented... I may have to give you after pics.

  1. Maybe it won't be kid friendly, BUT, at least it will be on your list of places you have been to, right?

  2. You are going to one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. If it is raining, I would say buy an umbrella and go out anyway. But I am biased to anything from Italy after serving there and in the mission that had Venice, or as they call it in Italy-Venezia, in its boundaries. You will love it no matter what. If you can, I would recommend taking the train into Mestre where the church is. It should be the cheapest and quickest, about 15 minutes if I remember correctly. I hope you enjoy it and I wish we could be there too! Even with the rain!

  3. I'd take Venice in the rain over no Venice. I LOVE Venice. It's one of my favorite places in the world, so far. Have fun!!

  4. Those people who told you Venice isn't stroller friendly--LISTEN TO THEM. Bring a back pack for Dylan and plan on lots of rest breaks for the girls. Truly, a stroller in Venice would cause you more trouble than not having one.

We did Venice in the rain--it was worth it.
