We were so lucky that there was a light drizzle because we only waited for 30 min. in line to go up the Eiffel tower. It usually takes around 4 hours!!
It was not only awesome to have my dad there because, well, he's my dad, but he was a translator, tour guide, comic relief, and historian all in one!
It just so happens that when we got out of our metro stop (the Paris Metro system puts NYC and Budapest to shame) that there was a War Memorial March going through the Arc de Triumph. Thanks Napoleon for this hugamungus arch.
This is my FAVORITE CITY SO FAR! I guess it's appropriate to go since I have a french name and that my heritage somewhat comes from there as well. My dad served his mission there back when it was a 2 1/2 years long mission. Then after marrying my mom, his family of three moved back there with my mom (5 months pregnant with my sister) for about 3 years. My sister was born there. (She gets all the luck. The hair, the boobs, being born in France...) This city has SOOOO much to see it's a bit overwhelming, but all in all it was just plain amazing. Stunning. Ridiculously wonderful.
5 Days in Paris without kids felt like 10 days. We did so much my feet are still throbbing. There will be more pics to come if/when this dumb uploading issue subsides soon. (We took around 500.) We were even smart enough to take some with a tri-pod at night the last night. not pictured. To be continued...

I've always wanted to go to Paris! It looks like so much fun! I'm so jealous of all of the cool places you get to see!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! You guys are having some amazing adventures! I can't even imagine how cultured your children are going to be! :)
ReplyDeleteDang, if I have to read another post about someone taking a trip without kids, I think I'm going to wean Caitlin ASAP and book a flight. But really, you two so deserve a romantic trip alone--and what better city than PARIS!!! So.Jealous.
ReplyDeleteI love Paris! someday we're going to rent a place there for a month or so. just live it up. please tell me you ate macarons. i haven't found any in the states that compare to parisian ones. have you been to Rome yet? I think that was my favorite city on our trip. You're such a lucky girl! You deserve it though.

ReplyDeleteParis!! Je suis tres jaloux!! =P More pictures please!! You all look like you had so much fun! How is your dad doing? How are you doing? We miss you!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to think of reasons why living in America is better than smack dab in the middle of Europe (or close). Um, health care? Okay, when I'm done having babies I'm taking a year off of the Western hemisphere. Or maybe a summer at least :p
ReplyDeleteParis with no kids sounds wonderful right now! Looks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteJana, I agree fully. Come on out anytime! Rome 2010? Macarons are the bomb and it's really funny that you thought they were the best bc they were my ALL time favorite heavenly deliciousness dessert ever! Seriously. Do they make them anywhere else?? I just found a bomb recipe online and are thinking of braving it...
ReplyDeleteShilae, promise?
Linds, kids cultured? They stayed at home... :) I'm just working on me still.
I'm so glad you found my blog. I've been reading yours off and on for a long time. I'm super jealous of all your traveling. Someday we'll go to Europe. You guys look really happy and your kids are beautiful. I have always admired, you, too! I'm so glad the straightener works for you. Keep in touch!
