I know my blog is suffering... suffering from "My computer is on the fritz and is waiting for a backup hardrive to come in the mail so I don't want to do anything to offend said computer so I don't lose my precious pictures." And who blogs without pictures?? Okay, many of you do, but mine is more of a picture journal dabbled with nonsense here and there and today, I would just like to blog about the satisfaction of being a COUGAR FAN. sigh. I love being a BYU Cougar. I actually wrote, "I love being a Cougar," but I know that there would be too many chuckles and maybe even gasps. Our defense SHOCKED me really. There was one returning player from last year and they dominated! 6 stops within the 10 yard line?? Who does that? We forced how many turnovers?
Our offense scared me at times. I don't think I am alone when I say that this game was more of a defensive win. The last touchdown was magical though. There were 4 guys converging on Pitta leaving the other wide-out all alone. Pitta got most of the catches during the drive, so naturally you would think that the last play would center around him. Oh, Bronco is too smart for that! Who is Jacobson anyway? We all know now. HE CAUGHT IT!
So now I relent with my 1st game rant:
Dear Oklahoma,
You were put on a pedestal way too long.
People didn't think BYU was that strong.
Hecky, I couldn't even image or pretend
That BYU would conquer and fight to the end
AND WIN! Woohoo!
Yes, win. We won! We beat YOU!!
"Of course we did," some would say
But not yesterday.
Nooooo, we had no clue the potential
Or could predict the score differential
Even the true fan who is prepared and versed
Had their doubts, expecting the worst
That's why I think this victory's so sweet
A good upset just can't be beat
It is so sad that you lost your QB
He could have helped in reality
But we outplayed you, I think
Even when he was in the rink
So the better team won, which leaves me in a woo
To think that BYU is better than OU!
*** Just FYI: BYU is now ranked 9th in the country!!! While Oklahoma is 12th.

Too Early! Too Early!! Don't tempt the wrath of the Whatever from high atop the Thing!! FSU didn't loose per se. Bowden made a silly mistake, Miami got lucky, but both teams played very very well. BYU has to be so so so on top of their game! =D

ReplyDeleteRA RA RA-RA-RA! RA RA RA-RA-RA! GO COUGARS!! That was such a great game! I love that poem, by the way. I flew back to St. Louis after visiting Autrey this weekend. At the airport there was a surprising amount of people wearing BYU apparel. I guess after a win like that, who wouldn't flaunt the blue and white?
