It was an eventful Mother's Day for me. B made some amazing cinnamon-rolled muffins, we went to Stake Conference, transported kids to and from the Stake Building for said Conference, got in a car wreck, we picnicked at Margit Island, I got a nap, and we had my favorite dinner: Steak, potatoes, corn, and homemade bread.
The day was mostly good. But why do bad things happen to us on Mother's Day when people are visiting?? Maleia got lost two years ago when my in-laws were visiting, and we got into a car accident this year while my cousin was visiting with her husband... we'd appreciate no visitors next year on Mother's Day. :) Kosonem.

Our knights in shining armor to come and save the day. aka: translate, talk to the police, and help us work it all out.

No one was hurt. Besides maybe an ego or two. The kids were really good and had a little pow-wow on the ground outside the car for an hour. Thanks Bobbi and Steve for entertaining my kiddos.

The car we hit. Not too much damage, but we flattened the tire, dented and scraped the side of their car, and scraped some of the car door.

The people in the car we hit. They were really nice and cooperative. Let's face it, they could have had every right to be mad, but they weren't.
All in all, everyone was fine. We were driving down the road and realized we were in the wrong lane and when we tried to move over, a car zoomed 'out of nowhere' in the lane we needed to be in and we didn't see them until it was too late. Look at that little baby car!
Happy Mother's Day!!! I have a great Mother and have been blessed with a stellar Mother-in-law and many wonderful examples of people who help me be a better mother. Whether you are a mother or not. Thanks for all you do.
(Can you guess who was driving our car??)

Um let's see...my guess for who was driving that car...YOU! You've been the culprit in all of the accidents that I've heard about to date so I think this was you too. Thank goodness everyone is okay. I remember when Maleia got lost and we all thought she might have gotten out onto the street, but I ended up finding her (with Haley, I think) over in a neighboring area just singing to herself with her little Ikea frog bib still on. Cute girl!
ReplyDeleteAll the cars here look like that! XD It's the reason I won't drive Cheyenne's giant four runner. Bummer of a day. I'm steering clear of you guys for many Mother's Days to come. :D
ReplyDeleteJust happy no one was hurt and your day wasnt *completely* ruined!! <3 you guys!
ReplyDeleteAh! That is my nightmare! Or a very tame version of it for sure. I'm glad no one was hurt and that your kids were so obedient to not run around the streets while you were dealing with it all. I'm "sure" my kids would be as helpful...(sigh)
ReplyDeleteI will never come visit you for Mother's Day, but I keep bugging Matt about taking a trip over there. I'm pretty sure he's never flying with me again though. Will you still be there next summer? Like...2010?
