My birthday today was wonderful and I just have to say how wonderful it is to be alive in this day and age. I think people concentrate on all the bad that is around us, (believe me, I have those days) but if I really think about it, I have to say that I know too many people in this world that are amazing and wonderful people, SO THERE IS HOPE! Now if only those people would procreate...
see? I have faults. That judgment just flew out there without warning. I'm working on it. I figure I have at least another 30 years to figure that one out... Here is to another 30 WONDERFUL loooong years with hopefully more doses of good than bad. Bring it on.
Now for my birthday, I only want one thing. A quick memory of me. This will go down in history in my blog book, so be, um, kind. :) I wasn't that bad. . . or was I????

Happy birthday Monique! I have so many fun memories of you growing up; skipping seminary to go to McDonalds for breakfast, I remember you rear-ending one of "the boys" while we were in your parent's car (is that still a secret?), endless nights hanging out with the girls and giggling and mostly, you being a great friend. I hope you had a fabulous birthday, thanks for all the memories, I love you tons!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a good birthday and that you are not freaking out about 30... 30 is SO young! Anyway, of course some of my best memories of you have to do with 2 words... Game Night. I loved our big game nights and I really loved going to your house after the kids were in bed to play games too. We just had so much fun with you guys. I also have to say that one of my best memories of you might sound kind of silly but its the night we went out super late and put up the signs for your yard sale. It was awesome just to get to talk to you one on one and get to know you better. I can't think of another time that it was just the two of us like that but it was awesome. You are an amazing person and I am so glad you are my friend. =)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was going through my miscarriage--you came over with a movie, rice chips, strawberries, and chocolate to dip the strawberries in. And you spread the word (even though I wasn't), and it brought a bunch of friends to my door when I needed it most--even though I didn't know it at the time. I don't know if I ever said it, but thank you for just being there.
ReplyDeleteMonique, we ARE procreating.
ReplyDeletememory of monique: remember that time you called my husband honey? or the time you melted the high chair? :)
I WISH I had more memories but all I have is one FHE right before you left.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I know enough about you to admire your optimism about life, your creativity, and this mad skill you have of making fun happen. I hope we live by each other again because you are exactly the type of friend people love to have around.
Happy Birthday!
I hope you had a good birthday! My memory is how you could always make Kaden laugh. It was so cute! You are so good with kids!
ReplyDeleteMonique, your post is just what I remember of you. You always seemed to have a positive outlook on things. Of coarse everyone has the venting moments. But I love how you always seem positive and happy. I think that is what draws people to you. I think it is a natural thing that you just do. I say it is a "talent". Something I would love to be blessed with!! Happy late 30th. It's over now you can continue on through life.............
ReplyDeleteI remember awesome basketball (where our kids were totally going nuts) and being prego w/ you when we both had #2 & #3 kiddos. Of course I'll always remember how beautiful you are inside and out. Always super sweet and have a smile ready to share. I miss you, Monique- you are fabulous!
