Potty Training at it's best.
Why we are starting now:
Why we are starting now:
1. Dylan wants to wear a Gerber thick underwear AND a Lightning McQueen underwear. You should see him show everyone his underwear. You better say it's cool, or else!
2. He has kept his pullup dry for a whole day several times and even sometimes at night.
3. It's not our carpet.
4. We have a normal sized laundry machine. (Something very rare here.) And a normal sized dryer. (Even rarer.)
5. He already always poops in the toilet, so maybe this isn't really the 1st day of potty training, but it's the first day of underwear.
When do you teach boys to stand up to pee? I can't wait to do the cheerios thing. I've always been a little jealous of that. Oh, that and writing in the snow. Boys have all the fun.
WISH ME LUCK!!

You're so funny! When I was potty-training Colin, Blake was deployed for 10 months. So Colin just learned sitting down (because, really? How am I going to demonstrate that?) and then adjusted just fine when Blake got home.
ReplyDeleteI've always been super jealous camping with boys. That's the one times being able to pee standing up RULES! ;-)
With us, it was easier just to teach him to pee standing up pretty much from the start - just because he knew that's how Dad did it. But he was too short to clear the seat so usually he had to stand on our toes.
ReplyDeleteChris peed after about a week of potty training standing up. But, he was also three and took great joy in it-and his dad showed him how fun it was. We didn't use cheerios, but they used to make these things called 'piddlers' that someone gave us. It's this foamy stuff that dissolves quickly etc. We would have used cheerios, but someone else bought them for us!
