It's gotten to the point where Facebook is my new journal instead of this blog. And that is sad. Time is just not as accessible anymore. So I decided to follow another friend's lead, Emily, and do little blurps about the week. Some weeks it might be thirteen, some weeks it might only be three on Thursday. We'll see. . .
1. We booked all our trips this week. Poland, Slevenia, Croatia, and Utah. I am sure packing is going to be a nightmare. One is just a girls trip, one is with a fun family we will miss when they move this summer, one is for Father's Day with just the family, and then one is when I leave Budapest for 4 months without B with 3 kids in tow. Wish us luck! I'm just trying to make it easier on B to let us go. He's not much of a mover and a shaker, so he can relax when we leave.
2. Making a pinata for Haley's birthday was a really dumb idea, but now I'm stuck. Haley would be crushed if we didn't finish this blasted thing.
3. Did I mention that Haley is 7 today!!! That is just the craziest thing ever. How my life has changed (for the better) since she came into our lives. And how she survived the first 2 years of her life while B and I were working 2-3 jobs each is beyond me. We were both going to school full-time, shuffling around in one car, having a new babysitter every day of the week (the joys of living near family and having some stellar friends), I was the RS President, and B was the Executive Secretary. Hey, if we can survive that, we can survive anything.
4. I'm still loving how Hungary is obsessed with 80's music. I was jamming to Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer the other day in the grocery store. Yes, I am too legit to quit!
5. I am teaching Fire Safety this week in Preschool. Here's my latest awesome conversation:
ME- What do we do if there is a fire in the house? STUDENT 1- Blame your brother. It's probably his fault. STUDENT 2 - Blow out the candles! STUDENT 3 - Throw water on it like this: (starts spitting.)
6. DYLAN IS POTTY TRAINED!! He even stays dry at night. He asks me when he needs to go potty, he wears underwear, and B even taught him to stand up to pee. (Not my idea. I wanted him to stay sitting for as long as possible. oi!) Way to go bro!
7. I can't wait for Chick Fil A.
8. Haley is playing Tball on Saturdays and we all LOVE it! She is doing so awesome and B is loving practicing with her and helping out during practice while the other two kids ride laps with their bikes and I chew the fat with many of my friends.
9. I am no longer RS Pres. PHEW! I felt like being at home was just one big long meeting with B (the Branch President) and when a couple new families moved in, I felt it was coming. And I LOVE being in Primary. Seriously. I actually forgot how much I like it.
10. Sunday was Stake Conference and then a Stake Primary Meeting afterward. I was able to teach the Stake Primary Leaders about the Faith in God program since they now have materials in Hungarian. It's amazing how much we take things like that for granted living in America. They can't just go to lds.org and get all the info they need since most can't understand English. Some ladies traveled three hours to come to Stake Conference. How awesome are they?
11. Haley is enrolled in TWO schools next year. She will go to 2nd Grade with her cousin for 2 months in Utah before we travel back home to Budapest to continue going to school here. I am so glad that she is ecstatic about it. Maleia missed the cut off date in Utah to go to Kindergarten, so she will go to a Christian School here called Greater Grace for Kindergarten. Yes, my kids will be going to 2 different schools. She missed the cut off date for Kindergarten in Haley's school by 18 days and Haley LOVES her school. I don't mind. I want her to have some sort of normalcy when we return. Maleia just can't wait for the "sparkly stairs," riding the bus, and her fun teacher that she has already met.
12. I miss B already. I know he's not in the military and leaving for a year or even 6 months, but it's still going to stink without him. At least he will be there for one of the months...
13. I shattered my huge glass punch bowl the night of our Cinco de Mayo party. It was amazing how much glass there was. It was everywhere. I found glass on my eyelids, and B cut his hand, but I don't think the floor has ever been cleaner after we cleaned the kitchen up. Thank GOODNESS it was in our kitchen and not on my carpet. (Did I mention that I also shattered our fish bowl with the fish still in it during preschool? Don't worry. The fish survived. Surprisingly.) I am blaming it on pregnancy klutziness.
Thirteen may be too many... are you still awake?
